Attorney's Fees

German Attorneys (Rechtsanwälte) are subject to the German Legislation on Attorney's fees (Rechtsanwaltsverguetungsgesetz).

Usually the value or interest in civil cases provides the basis for the fees rather than billable hours or the outcome.

Contractual fees may not be less than the fees provided by the legislation, however out of court cases and counseling may be subject to individual agreements.
